Clark County offering sign-on bonuses for full-time and part-time employees

SPRINGFIELD, OH (AUG. 31, 2022) ─ The Board of Clark County Commissioners approved a sign-on bonus program for new full-time and part-time employees at its weekly meeting on Wednesday morning.

Beginning Sept. 1, newly-hired permanent full-time employees may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000, while permanent part-time employees may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $1,500.

Clark County is believed to be the first county in Ohio to offer sign-on bonuses as a way to attract new employees to our departments.

“We’re excited to offer this benefit to prospective employees,” said Clark County Administrator Jenny Hutchinson. “We believe it will help us attract talented employees to join our tremendous team here in Clark County.”

The first portion of the bonus will arrive after 30 days of employment, while the second portion will be received after the completion of a probationary period. New employees must remain employed through the date of the bonus payment.

Eligible offices include positions working under Clark County elected officials’ offices, as well as the Board of Elections and the Veterans Service Commission. Other offices with their own boards are not considered eligible for the bonus program.
