DERR ROAD - ROAD CONSTRUCTION
Status Update: 11/9/2016
Construction crews are wrapping up the first phase construction between Villa Road and SR 334 this week, installing mailboxes, signage, permanent pavement markings, etc. This portion of the project is approximately 2 weeks ahead of schedule and will tentatively open November 11, 2016, weather permitting.
Derr Road north of 334
Construction crews began widening Derr Road, between SR 334 and Weber Road this week. The work will be limited to the removal of the existing shoulder and constructing a paved shoulder. Additional work north of SR 334 includes waterline construction between Montego and Cheyenne, along with clearing trees along the section between SR 334 and Moorefield Road. The remaining work will be completed in 2017.
Overall Schedule:
Work on County Road 385 - Derr Road is scheduled to start on Monday, July 25, 2016 and will continue throughout the 2016 construction season. The new work will include paved shoulders along the corridor to serve as dedicated bike lanes and will require pavement widening, storm sewer upgrades, roadside drainage and culvert repairs, pavement planing, and resurfacing over the entire 2.03 mile section. In addition, the work includes a new traffic signal at Montego Road, new lighting at Kingsgate Road, a profile adjustment south of Kingsgate Road, water main construction, and pavement markings and raised pavement markers.
During Stage 1 Derr Road will be closed to through traffic between Villa Road and State Route 334 for 120 calendar days and detours posted accordingly. Traffic will be maintained to residents and all businesses within the closed sections. Your patience throughout this process is appreciated. Please watch for changes in traffic patterns and follow signs accordingly.
We apologize in advance for any inconveniences!
