Chief Deputy Jeff Meyer has lived in Clark County for the past 35 years. He graduated from Shawnee High School and Wright State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Chief Meyer graduated from Clark State Community College Basic Police Academy in 1991 and became a Special Deputy with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

In 1992, Chief Deputy Meyer was hired by the Springfield Police Division (SPD). While at SPD, he worked as a uniform patrol officer, traffic investigator, criminal investigator, crime scene investigator, street supervisor, shift commander and finally detective lieutenant.

Chief Meyer retired from Springfield in April of 2018 after 26 years of service. After retiring from SPD, he accepted the position of Chief Deputy with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Meyer is second in command under Sheriff Burchett and runs the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office employs over 150 deputies and civilian staff and has an average jail population of 200 inmates.

Chief Deputy Meyer looks forward to serving the citizens of Clark County and trying to make the county a better place to live, work and pray.
